Es gibt zwar einige "standard" Paketformate wie msi oder nsis ... aber viele Softwarehersteller gehen ihre eigene Wege. Deshalb gibt es nie eine 100-ige Garantie dafür, dass ein Windows-Programm mit Salt installiert werden kan

Ein großes Problem ist, dass die Windows-Paket-Installer meistens keine Abhängigkeitüberprüfung durchführen. D.h. zBp. dass man ein Java-Program installieren kann, ohne das auf dem Rechner überhaupt installiert ist. Mit OSS haben wir dieses Problem dadurch gelöst, dass die Softwarepakete über eigene Software-State-Dateien in die State-Datien der Rechner eingebunden werden. Diese befinden sich auf dem Server unter '/srv/salt/packages'. In den Software-State-Dateien ist es beschrieben, was ist erforderlich um ein Softwarepaket zu installieren. Das kann eine anderes Softwarepaket oder eine Konfigurations oder Lizenzdatei sein. Hier sehen Sie 3 verschieden Software-State-Dateien.
